Belgrade, Serbia
The view towards the Genex Tower at sunset
My love affair with the Balkans continues. There are few regions like it. Beautiful people, beautiful scenery, beautiful people and with an unassailable sense of humour - despite the darkness of the recent past. Serbia was last on my list of ex-Yugoslavian countries to travel to, but it won’t be the last time I visit.
St Sava Temple - the crypt is very beautiful. St Sava was burned on this spot, and the temple built as the centre of the Serbian Orthodox faith.

The concrete flats of Novi Beograd are legendary and made popular by Boogie in his photo books. There is real beauty in this soaring concrete.

These guys were busking on the way to Zemun. Had they been of a certain age and British, they could have passed for Trevor & Simon from the BBC.
